A narrow cobblestoned street in Vilnius Old Town whose walls are covered with over 200 small art plaques dedicated to Lithuanian and world writers who had connections to the city.

Literatų gatvė (Literatu Street) is a narrow, atmospheric street in the heart of Vilnius Old Town that has been transformed into an open-air literary gallery. Its walls are adorned with over 200 small art pieces — ceramic plaques, metal works, sculptural fragments, and mixed-media installations — each dedicated to a writer or literary figure connected to Vilnius. The project, initiated in 2008, celebrates Vilnius's rich literary heritage. The city has been home to writers in Lithuanian, Polish, Yiddish, Russian, and other languages, and the installations reflect this multicultural literary tradition. Each piece is unique, created by different artists, and references a specific author — from Czesław Miłosz to Jurgis Kunčinas. Walking down Literatu Street is like reading an anthology of the city's literary soul. The pieces range from subtle and poetic to bold and provocative. Some are easy to spot, while others are hidden in corners and crevices, rewarding careful observation. The street connects to the Vilnius University campus, adding an academic atmosphere to the literary journey.
