Joniškis, Šiauliai1.5-2 hoursBest: May to October; autumn for foliage
A vast manor park in northern Lithuania containing some of the country's rarest trees — including imported species from around the world planted by botanist-nobility in the 19th century.
Žagarė Manor Park is one of Lithuania's botanical treasures. The vast park, attached to the Žagarė Manor estate, contains an extraordinary collection of tree species — many of them rare imports from North America, Asia, and other parts of Europe — planted by the estate's owners in the 19th century.
The park includes specimens of trees rarely seen in Lithuania, including tulip trees, ginkgos, and unusual varieties of oak and maple. A walking trail through the park identifies the most notable specimens.
