Tytuvėnai Monastery is one of Lithuania's best-preserved monastic complexes. Built by the Bernardine order in the 17th century, the ensemble includes a church with remarkable trompe-l'oeil frescoes that create the illusion of three-dimensional architecture on flat surfaces.
The monastery complex is set on the shore of a lake, creating a serene atmosphere. The cloister, with its arched galleries, is particularly photogenic and has been beautifully restored. The church interior is one of the finest examples of baroque illusionism in Lithuania.
