One of the largest open-air ethnographic museums in Europe — over 180 authentic buildings from across Lithuania recreating village life from the 18th-20th centuries.

The Lithuanian Open Air Museum at Rumšiškės is one of the largest and best ethnographic museums in Europe. Spread across 195 hectares on the shores of the Kaunas Reservoir, the museum contains over 180 authentic historic buildings — farmsteads, workshops, churches, schools, and windmills — relocated from across Lithuania and reassembled to recreate traditional village life. The museum is organized by ethnographic region, allowing visitors to compare the different architectural styles and traditions of Aukštaitija, Dzūkija, Suvalkija, and Žemaitija. Costumed staff demonstrate traditional crafts, and seasonal festivals bring the villages to life with music, dance, and food.
