Birštonas Observation Tower

The Birštonas observation tower provides one of Lithuania's most remarkable natural panoramas — the famous Nemunas River loops. From the tower's platform, you can see how the mighty Nemunas River has carved dramatic meanders through the landscape, creating a series of near-circular loops surrounded by dense forest. Birštonas itself is a charming spa town, known for its mineral waters and tranquil atmosphere. The observation tower is located within easy walking distance of the town center and offers 360-degree views over the river valley and surrounding forests. The Nemunas loops are a geological wonder — the river makes such extreme bends that in some places, two stretches of river are just a few hundred meters apart despite being kilometers apart by water. The views from the tower are particularly spectacular in autumn and after spring flooding, when the river swells and the loops become even more dramatic.
