Anykščiai Treetop Walking Path (Lajų Takas)

Anykščiai, Utena1-2 hoursBest: May to October; autumn colors spectacular

A stunning elevated walkway that rises through the forest canopy to a 34-meter observation tower, offering a bird's-eye view over the Šventoji River valley and Anykščiai pine forests.

The Anykščiai Treetop Walking Path (Lajų Takas) is one of Lithuania's most popular and innovative nature attractions. This 300-meter-long elevated wooden walkway winds through the crown of the forest, gradually ascending to a 34-meter-tall observation tower that provides breathtaking views over the Šventoji River valley. As you walk along the path, you experience the forest from a perspective usually reserved for birds and squirrels. The walkway passes through the canopy of pines and deciduous trees, with interpretive panels explaining the ecology of the forest at different heights. The experience is particularly magical in autumn when the deciduous trees turn golden while the pines remain dark green. The observation tower at the end of the path spirals upward, offering increasingly dramatic views with each level. From the top, the panorama extends over the vast forests of the Anykščiai region, the winding Šventoji River, and on clear days, distant hills and lakes. The path includes a thrilling 30-meter slide for a fast return to ground level.
